Girl struck down and dragged under delivery van escapes unscathed!!

Post by Adaeze Brenda on Sat Apr 02, 2016 6:00 am

The vehicle, a delivery van smashes into a little girl and drags her beneath the wheels - before she is pulled out virtually unscathed.

According to Mirror Online, the three-year-old girl, Devrim Simsek was playing with her bright orange toy car in the middle of the street when a man climbed into his van set off in his van without noticing the youngster.

The sickening footage shows the white van accelerate at speed straight into the youngster, who then disappears beneath the vehicle along with her toy car.

Realising he's hit something, the driver begins to reverse until a man who saw the crash runs over and stops him. They then reach under the car, and incredibly pull out the child, who sustained only minor scratches and bruises.

Police said the toy car had prevented the van from reversing immediately and had also kept the car high enough to prevent serious injury to Devrim.

Mustafa Simsek, Devrim’s father, said he had filed a complaint against the driver, Mehmet Caglar Onder, 24.

He said: "I don't know why he was not being more careful; he said he hadn't seen her because this is a dead-end street, children don't expect to see cars coming down here and he should have been more careful.
"We took her to a doctor immediately afterwards, and were amazed that she only had a scratch on her legs and a bruise on her lips," he continued. "She was kept overnight in hospital, and thank goodness was okay."
"I am however amazed that the driver was released so quickly, it seems as if a child has to be killed or seriously injured for police to take this sort of thing seriously," he added.

The incident happened in the city of Iskenderun, Turkey.
